Today, my beloved dog has been at the animal hospital all day, anesthetized and operated to find out what was wrong. At 17:40, just when I sat down at one of Stockholm’s finer restaurants to have dinner with my team and two of my guests from the United States, the message came that we could keep him over the weekend but it’s time to put him to sleep early next week.
I was considering staying at dinner, but sitting there with tears in my eyes would just be like a wet blanket on the whole thing so I went home instead.
I have had many dogs that have walked over the rainbow bridge, but Niilo is the first to make it so very much too soon. The guy is five years old and of a breed that often lives until they are 15 🙁
