About me

Tall guy (6’7″/202 cm)  living in Täby outside Stockholm. Born in Eskilstuna but grew up in Alingsås (western part of Sweden). I moved to Stockholm in 1993 and have since lived in the suburbs Älvsjö, Solna, and Täby (Technically, Solna and Täby are not suburbs, but small cities). I hope my kids will grow up and eventually settle close to Stockholm (or somewhere else, where it is nice to visit them 🙂 )

Right, kids.  I have two daughters with my wife, Anneli. They are super active (dance, football/soccer, choir, riding, you name it), I am not sure how they handle it, but it works. Anneli takes care of the horse-related stuff, and football/soccer is my responsibility.

Coach? Yeah! It sort of just happened. I have always liked ball sports. However, growing up, football/soccer was never my primary sport. I have a ball sense, and during the years with football/soccer, I have probably grown as a player, thanks to training from others and coach educations I attended. One of the more interesting “Aha! moments” was when I realized that even if there is A LOT of difference between teaching am 8 y.o. a step-over maneuver and coaching a team of really skilled developers. Quite a lot of it is about applying situational leadership, a common leadership skill in both areas. If you don’t get that, you are likely to fail! All managers should have a soccer team!

Manager? Yes, I am. But I don’t plan to blog much about work, at least not where it gets close to my team and me. I might post something about a conference, but the only rule I have set is to not publicly comment on what happens at work on social media or a blog, except maybe if we have done something that I am proud of and think others can benefit from what I have to tell. So don’t expect posts like “How can someone be so effing stupid to recruit an XX like this and believe it will have a positive impact.”

I am also involved in politics, representing the liberal center party.
